EARLE'S VING CHUN KUEN - THE ART OF INVINCIBILITY
INSIDE REAL KUNGFU
INSIDE REAL KUNGFU
Do you understand what is real kungfu?
If you just said "yes" then don't read any further
I can't help you
"How can I know if I am practising Real Kungfu?"
Thankfully there are several guiding principles to practicing
TRUE KUNGFU
True Kungfu is (1) rooted in the feet like a tree
(2) IT develops in the legs
(3) IT is directed by the waist
And (4) IT is transmitted through the fingers
This ancient saying of "True Kungfu", is foundational to all Chinese Kungfu, not just to one particular system. To begin to recognise if one is practising "Real Kungfu" one can use this ancient saying to help them identify it. However, since different systems may employ different methods, one must first understand the depth of its meaning, and then understand it within the context of the principles employed by their method.
Then one might ask, "What is IT? What is rooted in the feet? What develops? What is directed? What is transmitted? What is this True Kungfu?" The answer is "CHI". Now one might begin to understand why "IT", or Chi, is foundational to all Chinese Kungfu.
But not just to martial training. Chi is universal. Chi is foundational to all life. Chi is the Essence of life. CHI is the universal essence of life, being a continual cycle of chaos and order, returning to chaos again, and so the cycle repeats.
CHI - LIFE FORCE
YES, Chi is Life Force - that spark which ignites at the moment of conception.
CHI - BREATH
YES, Chi is breath - the cycle of breath which begins at the moment one is born
without breath ones Life Force would immediately be extinguished.
CULTIVATING CHI
Once sustained by your Mother, now you are responsible for
the energy - your chi - used in the ebb and flow of
your breath and maintaining your Life Force
your energy chi is cultivated and restored through the food
you eat, the air you breathe, and thru physical endeavor
CHI - ENERGY
YES, Chi is energy. YES Chi is breath. YES Chi is Life Force
Chi is the essence of life and is replenished thru cultivation
which is where we began - but of course there is much more...
Even Hippocrates understood this universal truth of LIFE FORCE known as "Chi"
“Everyone has a doctor in him; we just have to help him in his work.
The natural healing force within each one of us is the greatest force in getting well...” - Hippocrates
So then all kungfu is the same? No! While one can find commonalities between kungfu
systems there are various, principles, concepts, and theories which set them apart
SO THE NEXT QUESTION IS
HOW DO YOU KNOW YOU PRACTICE REAL VING CHUN KUNGFU METHOD?
